Matthew Robertson, M.D.
Dr. Robertson attended the University of Virginia School of Medicine and then completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). He then completed a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at UAB. The rigorous surgical training Dr. Robertson received at UAB involved radical pelvic surgery, surgical management of all gynecologic cancers, urogynecologic procedures, and pelvic reconstructive surgery for support defects.
Dr. Robertson has been active in medical and scientific research since medical school and has authored multiple papers published in medical journals. While at UAB, his research focused on gene therapy applications for ovarian cancer. In addition to ovarian cancer, Dr. Robertson has a special interest in endometrial cancer, including the laparoscopic management of this disease.
